Educational and Vocational Counselling

Clients/students intending to enrol for training are assessed on their language, literacy and numeracy abilities to determine their capability to successfully undertake the training and determine whether any additional support is needed. A trainer/assessor may also be appointed to assist the client/student with any vocational counselling they may require. We have procedures that support and recognise the learning needs of individuals and will revise learning and assessment strategies to match individual needs and address literacy or numeracy issues, where possible, so that student/clients can successfully achieve the outcomes. We may also refer a student/client to a TAFE for language, literacy and/or numeracy support. Academic Institute of Melbourne has a pre-training review process which is used to assess the applicants LLN ability to undertake the course. (See Access & Equity Policy).
